SASTIPE – Inclusive Mental Health Care for Roma Communities

SASTIPE is a transnational initiative dedicated to improving access to quality mental health services for Roma communities in Bulgaria, Romania, and Greece.

The ABCs of Mental Health is a research-based mental health promotion project that supports individuals and communities to improve their well-being through simple, everyday actions. The strength of the project lies in its simplicity and salutogenic approach, which focuses on what supports health and well-being rather than what causes illness. Based on the Act-Belong-Commit model, the ABCs of Mental Health highlights the power of simple, everyday actions—such as going for a walk, connecting with a friend, or reading a book—offering a practical pathway to prevention and supporting the development of long-term mental resilience.

Methodology development for migrants’ and refugees’ mental health promotion during integration into a new host environment.

MiMIND aims at promoting good mental health and preventing mental health problems among migrants, refugees, and internally displaced people from Ukraine through the methodological support of the integration and essential services (healthcare and social care, education and employment), often being displaced people’s only contact to and support in the new host environment. 5 partners from 3 countries will collect and adapt existing EU and global best and promising practices, approaches, tools and implementable research results on mental health assessment and promotion, and incorporate them into two Codes of Good Practices, supporting integration services. Partners will test elements of these Codes in pilot actions in Hungary, Romania and Ukraine, promoting mental health in family-based interventions, in a school setting and in primary health care.

Individual in the grip of Covid-19: psychological consequences of the epidemic and protective measures to contain the spread of infection

The Človek-19 project explores the long-term psychological impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and related public health measures on the general population and vulnerable groups.

Beyond documenting these effects, the project also responds to evolving crises—such as war and inflation—that compound stress and social disruption. Based on the findings, the project team developed targeted interventions and support materials to mitigate the negative consequences and help individuals cope with distress during and after the pandemic.

PROSPERH – Promoting Positive Mental and Physical Health at Work in a Changing Environment

Workplaces have experienced rapid changes in recent years, driven by digital and green transitions (‘twin transition’) and the COVID-19 pandemic. New ways of working and managing working environments have arisen, and these can affect the physical and mental health of workers in new ways, both positive and negative. Workplaces can be health-promoting environments, but how this can be achieved in practice needs exploration.

MENTBEST

MENTBEST (Protecting Mental Health in Times of Change) is a five-year project that seeks to further promote EAAD’s proven community-based 4-Level Approach and develop an innovative technology to offer mental health support to vulnerable groups across Europe.

The project targets refugees/migrants, older people (above 65 years), young people (15-24 years), long-term unemployed and those with current or past mental disorders. The project will develop, implement, validate and evaluate a new comprehensive multi-level community-based approach (“COMBINA”), based on the existing 4-Level Approach, but adapted and broadened for the needs of vulnerable groups and for non-clinical mental health challenges, including sub-diagnostic depressive and anxiety symptoms, burnout and mental distress. The project will also develop an app (“MENTINA”) that will provide information on depression and allow people to collect and visualise data to better understand and manage their mental health.
