From 19 to 25 May 2025, Europe comes together to raise awareness about mental health and call for deeper, more structural solutions. This year, the focus is clear: we must go beyond the biomedical narrative and start addressing the social determinants that shape mental health for all — poverty, housing, education, employment, discrimination and inequality.
At MentBox, we fully align with this vision. Our project is built on the recognition that mental health is not just a matter of individual treatment — it is shaped by the social context in which people live.

MentBox’s focus:
MentBox (Modular Mental Health Toolbox) aims to reduce the gap between evidence-based mental health interventions and their implementation in EU member states. We focus particularly on vulnerable groups, including migrants, displaced persons, unemployed individuals, and Roma communities — groups often disproportionately affected by social and economic barriers.
We believe that interventions will only be effective if they are:
- Tailored to local needs and contexts
- Inclusive of lived experiences
- Rooted in community-based approaches
- Supported by social and health policy integration
By working closely with Ministries, civil society, and communities themselves, MentBox advocates for mental health interventions that are holistic, accessible, and sustainable.
